Library

Open to school and public library staff who will promote the program, host activities and events, encourage reading, and participate in library challenges to win books and programming materials for their schools and communities.

Teacher

Open to K–12 teachers who wish to enroll their classrooms in a fun reading challenge to encourage students to read more and win books for their classroom libraries.

Public

Open to children, adults, families, homeschoolers, and online students who want to join the fun, track their reading, and compete for a chance to win books for their home libraries.

Group CategoryTeachers must register and participate individually with their own classroom(s)/team(s). Please do not register entire schools or multiple classes across categories under one account. When entering reading minutes in the Class Manager, your classroom(s) will appear on the leaderboard under the category you registered for. *If you teach multiple classes, you may create more than one classroom in the Class Manager - but they all must fall under the same category (e.g., all Adventurers or all Pathfinders).

Login Username (for teacher profile page)This is your login username and profile page name — it is not your classroom or team name. You will create your classroom/team name separately the first time you enter reading minutes.

Consent to the collection and use of the group/individual's reading data for leaderboard display.Consent to use the group/individual's images, names, and organization/community information for promotional purposes of the Northern Reading Program.

Eligibility:
The program is open to all age groups, categorized as:

Adventurers (Grades PreK-6)
Pathfinders (Grades 7-9)
Explorers (Grades 10-12)
Voyageurs (Adults 18 and up)
Trailblazers (Family groups and anyone living under the same roof)

Registration:
Participants must register for the program through our official website. By registering, participants agree to abide by the terms and conditions of the program.

Honour System for Logging Reading Minutes:
Participants are expected to log their reading minutes honestly and accurately. Teachers and members of the public are responsible for logging their own or their classrooms reading minutes through their profile page on the program website.

Respectful Conduct:
Participants are encouraged to engage respectfully with staff, volunteers, and other readers, fostering a supportive reading community.

Data Privacy:
Personal information collected during registration will be used solely for the purposes of the SaskPower Northern Reading Program and will not be shared with third parties without consent.

Content Guidelines:
While participants are free to choose their reading materials, we encourage selections that are appropriate for their age group and respectful of the diverse community participating in the program.

Changes and Cancellations:
The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the program or cancel activities due to unforeseen circumstances. Participants will be notified of any significant changes.

Awards:
Awards and prizes vary each year and depend on the generosity of our donors and sponsors.

Liability:
The organizers are not responsible for any injuries or damages resulting from participation in the program.

Community Standards:
Participants are encouraged to contribute positively to the program, whether through discussions, sharing of reading experiences, or other forms of participation.

Feedback and Complaints:
Participants are welcome to provide feedback about the program. Any complaints or concerns should be directed to the program coordinators at wanderingwillie1992@gmail.com.
